A comparison
Free or paid generator? What to check first.
A free email signature generator makes a signature once and hands it over. A paid builder keeps it working: it hosts the pictures, lets you change it and counts what it does. Here are the questions that tell the two apart, answered for Animated Signature, so you can ask them of any generator.
Free for a month. No card needed.

The short answer
Is a free email signature generator good enough?
For one plain signature you will never change, often yes, as long as you know who hosts its pictures and whether it adds a link of its own. Pay for a builder when you want your own photo animated, banners that change by date, clicks counted, or to edit the signature later without starting again.

Questions to ask
Seven questions, answered.
Ask them of any generator, free or paid. Here is why each matters, and how this one answers.
| Why it matters | Animated Signature | |
|---|---|---|
| Who hosts the pictures, and for how long? | Every email loads them from there, for years after it was sent | Our own storage, over HTTPS, and installed signatures keep their pictures even if you stop paying |
| Does it add a link or a badge of its own? | It goes out under your name, on every email | No. Nothing goes in that you did not put there |
| Can you change it later? | Titles, numbers and offers all change | Yes, at any time: it saves as you go, and you copy it into your mail client again |
| Does it fit a phone? | Apple Mail on an iPhone shrinks a whole email to fit its widest part | 320 pixels wide, so nothing shrinks |
| What does older Outlook show of an animation? | Only the first frame, so a GIF that starts empty arrives empty | The finished photo: every animation here starts on it |
| Does it count clicks, or track opens? | Opens need a hidden pixel in every email you send | Clicks, as totals, while tracking is on, and never opens |
| What does it cost after the free part? | Free can mean free once, free with a badge, or free for a while | A month free, then £2.99 a month or £29.99 a year in the UK, €2.99 or €29.99 where the euro is the currency, and US$2.99 or US$29.99 everywhere else, with tax included |
The verdict
Free to make. Paid to keep working.
A free generator is enough when
- You want one still signature, made once.
- You know where its pictures are hosted, and are content with that.
- Nothing in it will need to change.
A builder is worth paying for when
- Your own photo should move, and rest finished in Outlook.
- A banner should change with the month or the campaign.
- You want to know which links people use.
- You will edit it, more than once.
Questions
Before you choose
What happens to my signature if I stop paying?
Signatures you have already installed keep working: their pictures and links stay up, because the people you emailed agreed to nothing. The builder, campaigns and analytics close until you subscribe again.
Is there a free plan?
There is a free month, with no card needed, and then one plan at £2.99 a month or £29.99 a year in the UK, €2.99 or €29.99 where the euro is the currency, and US$2.99 or US$29.99 everywhere else, with tax included. There is no free tier with a badge on it.
Can I take the code and use it anywhere?
Yes. The Install page copies the signature's code for any mail client that takes HTML. Its pictures stay on our storage, which is what keeps them loading in emails you sent long ago.
